About the Program

Hornpipe magazine is a service-oriented Irish-American culture magazine covering dance, music, culture and leisure subjects for 13 to 50 year old women and men.

Our editorial emphasis is on history, travel, fitness, music and dance competitions, but it is also open to a wide range of topics of interest for all people of Irish-American descent.

We are pleased to offer internships with our editorial department. The program is designed for college students, and those just finished with undergraduate or graduate study seeking a practical understand of a consumer magazine.

These positions are unpaid and we ask that interns work at least 15 hours per issue. Some scheduling flexibility is available and can be discussed on an individual basis upon selection
to the program.

Expectations:

During their term interns are expected to perform the following duties:

• Researching, fact checking and proofreading editorial assignments
• Reporting and writing short items for the magazine
• Subscription data and processing

Application Requirements:
