Hard Core Music Review: KILT - Four in the crib

Over its short three year history, KILT has become known for its barn-burning, foot-stomping live performances. If you've been lucky enough to catch a gander at the band, you're most likely reading this as you nod your head with understanding approval. If you've yet to be experienced, then at the very least, know this: You will be hearing from KILT very soon.

If you love Celtic rock, you'll want to buy the musicians a nice dinner and take them home for a nightcap after they've finished playing their show.

If you hate Celtic Rock, you'll come away from one of their concerts ashamed of yourself - knowing that you were indeed tapping your foot and dancing like a fool at the front of the stage, despite your better musical judgement. The energy, good music and great times they dish up at one of their shows are just that infectious. How could they not be? The band puts forth a perfect blend of traditional Cape Breton tunes with the backbeat and sensibility of a '70s glam rock band.

In 2000, Dire Straits is history, after having sold nearly 103 million albums. Knopfler, former front-man, ended the band's 15 year run after a grueling world tour. "I just felt it was just too damn big, and I just wanted to improve as an artist," he said.
